Discover® More(SM) Review

The Discover® More(SM) Card is a cash back credit card for those with very good credit. With its unique cash back program, cardholders can earn a 5% Cashback Bonus® in categories like travel, home, gas, restaurants, movies and more. These categories rotate throughout the year. Cardholders also earn up to 1% cash back on all other purchases.

Cardholders can also earn up to a double Cashback Bonus® by redeeming their rebates for gift certificates from participating Discover Card Partners, meaning that it is possible to effectively get a 10% rebate on certain purchases. There is no annual cap on the amount of rebates that can be earned, and rebates do not expire as long as the account is active within a 36-month period.

The card also features a reasonably low APR with no annual fee and a 0% intro rate on purchases for 6 months, and a 0% intro rate on balance transfers for 12 months.

If you intend to carry a balance on the card, you should be aware that it uses the "Two Cycles Average Daily Balance" method. This method of applying finance charges is more expensive for those who occasionally carry a balance as compared to the "Average Daily Balance" method used by most card issuers.

The Discover® More card also provides several platinum benefits, including up to $500,000 in travel accident insurance, auto rental insurance, and various fraud and security protection services. Cardholders will also receive discounts on products and services at participating merchants and retailers.
